Describe the cargo precisely
“Electronics” is not enough information to select packaging. Provide the model, dimensions, weight, original-box availability and vulnerable parts. State whether the device contains a battery: acceptance conditions must be confirmed before collection. Transport and protection decisions depend on the specific product rather than its broad category.
When the retail box is insufficient
Retail packaging is designed for particular handling conditions and may not suit a standalone international shipment. Prevent movement inside the box and protect corners and protruding parts. If the box is damaged or internal inserts are missing, send photos to the manager. Silk Sky Delivery can arrange repacking and additional protection before transport.
What wooden crating provides
A crate or frame can be agreed for fragile, large or valuable packages. It increases external dimensions and weight, so the final price is determined after preparation or through an agreed estimate. A frame does not replace internal cushioning. Do not automatically request the heaviest construction: the aim is appropriate protection, not the greatest amount of material.
Before pickup
- Photograph the item’s external condition, accessories and packaging.
- List accessories and separate components.
- Disclose glass, fragile parts and batteries.
- Agree packing work, its cost and any insurance requirement.
Inspecting the delivery
Before opening, inspect the box for external damage. If there is a problem, retain the packaging, record photos and video, and contact the manager. Packaging reduces risk but is not insurance and does not replace insurance conditions. The FAQ offers insurance based on an agreed declared value; confirm the terms and applicability to your goods before dispatch. Send photos and package dimensions for a protection and transport quote.
