Why a price per kilogram is not the whole quote
A per-kilogram rate is useful only when the route, product category and included services are clear. Two boxes of the same weight may need different packaging, while warehouse handover and address collection involve different work. Silk Sky Delivery prices most shipments using actual weight; certain categories and bulky cargo may be assessed using volume.
Actual versus volumetric weight
Actual weight is the measured weight of the prepared shipment. Volumetric weight reflects the space it occupies in transport. Do not apply a random online conversion factor to your booking: ask the manager which rules apply to the selected service. Provide the length, width and height of each package, especially if it is large but light. Final packaging may change both dimensions and weight.
An illustrative calculation
Suppose the packed shipment weighs 12 kg and the agreed per-kilogram rate is T. Base transport would be 12 × T if neither a minimum chargeable weight nor volumetric assessment applies. Add any agreed extra services. This illustrates the calculation structure, not a published price: obtain the actual rate and minimum weight for your cargo.

When the price becomes final
The initial estimate usually uses the details you provide. Request the final total after receipt and weighing. Under the website’s terms, customs clearance is included, while special packaging, courier services and insurance may be charged separately. Compare full totals for an equivalent route rather than headline rates per kilogram. Keep the agreed quote with your waybill to check the service scope on receipt.
