When sea freight makes sense
Consider sea freight when cargo is large or heavy and speed is not the main priority. Examples include furniture, equipment, spare parts and commercial consignments. Silk Sky Delivery lists sea freight on the UAE → Russia route with an indicative period of 40–60 days. Do not automatically apply those terms to the reverse direction.
Compare complete quotes
Lower transport costs for large volumes do not mean every small order is cheaper by sea. Request an air comparison with the same service scope. The quote should clearly cover UAE collection, preparation, packaging, main transport and receipt or onward delivery in Russia. Extra crating and insurance may be separate; customs clearance is included under the service terms.

- Weight and external dimensions of every package.
- Equipment or furniture photos and current packaging details.
- Pickup address, destination city and required arrival date.
- Any loading, reinforced protection or address-delivery requirements.
Plan the timeline carefully
Confirm when the agreed transit period begins, how long preparation takes and when dispatch is available. Allow for port handling, clearance and transport to the final city. Standard and sea services may face schedule changes or additional checks, so avoid booking equipment installation or a move around an unconfirmed arrival date. Explain the final purpose and deadline to the manager early.
Receiving the cargo

Delivery to another city should not be assumed to fall within the quoted Moscow price or timeframe.
